Cox cable to carry the Gulf Coast Sports and Entertainment Network
BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – WAFB and Gray Media are thrilled to announce that Cox Cable will now offer the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network (GCSEN), bringing New Orleans Pelicans games to Cox Cable subscribers in the New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Mobile-Pensacola areas. All 75 non-national network games are set to air on GCSEN, ensuring fans can catch every thrilling moment of the action.
With the Pelicans season opener against Chicago Wednesday Oct 23, Cox subscribers in Baton Rouge will temporarily find this game on channel 125. On Friday Oct. 25, Cox will put the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network on its permanent home, Cox channel 22.
“Our desire is to get the Pelicans games in front of as many viewers as possible,” said Joe Sciortino, VP and General Manager of WAFB. “We are excited to announce the addition of Cox Cable, as we work to provide Pelicans games to more and more fans in our area.”
“We’re pleased to be able to provide Pelicans games and other content through the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network to our Cox video subscribers in Louisiana and Florida,” said Cox Vice President – Marketing Colleen Levy. “Our commitment to the Pelicans started when they relocated to New Orleans from Charlotte as the New Orleans Hornets. We are proud to continue in that tradition as a broadcasting partner.”
The Pelicans’ season opener starts with a pre-game show at 6:30 p.m. and the game broadcast at 7 p.m. The game promises to be electrifying, and GCSEN is excited to bring it directly to homes across our region.
The Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network also offers an exciting lineup of sports and entertainment programming in 14 markets across three states in the Gulf Coast region.
