Crews battle massive fire at equipment rental business in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Springfield firefighters spent Monday afternoon battling a massive fire visible from I-44 and Highway 65.

According to the Springfield Fire Department, firefighters were called around 12:30 p.m. to Superior Rental location off of Kearney Street. Fire crews are still working on the fire.

Crews say there are no reported injuries at this point and that the fire was contained to two forklifts.

Firefighters requested Springfield City Utilities due to powerlines in the area. According to the CU Outage Map, the reported 60 outages in that area have now been fixed.
