Crosstown’s multi-faceted entertainment venue Black Lodge closing after 5 years

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Black Lodge is saying farewell to its multi-faceted event venue and dive bar in Memphis’ Crosstown neighborhood.

The once-exclusive film library and rental store expanded five years ago to its current location on North Cleveland Street. Its closure was announced Tuesday.

Since its opening, the 8,000-square-foot, community-oriented venue has hosted an array of events, including musical acts and concerts, theater and comedy performances, raves, parties, and everything in between.

Black Lodge is also home to the city’s last film library and video rental.

Although the business is sunsetting its entertainment enterprise, Black Lodge will continue to offer its video collections at a new home.

The location has yet to be announced.

If you have yet to experience Black Lodge, several events are still on the calendar up until September 1.
