Crunch Fitness — a huge national fitness center chain — is opening a new Northern Virginia location in Loudoun County.
The Burn has learned that Crunch is taking a huge 34,000 s.f. at the Fort Evans Plaza II shopping center in Leesburg.
That’s the same center off Fort Evans Road NE where Trader Joe’s just opened a couple of weeks back.
The company’s website shows Crunch locations in Richmond and further south in Virginia, but none in NoVa. However, there have been previous Crunch locations in the area.
You may recall that last month The Burn reported about Ashley Furniture closing its store in the center. Now we know that Crunch is taking its place.
Kudos to the folks at Kite Realty Group, the landlord at the center. Besides Trader Joe’s, they recently added Restoration Hardware to the center and before that a HomeGoods store. Now comes the Crunch news.
They don’t waste anytime getting new tenants in these sometimes hard to fill large spaces.
Crunch was founded in 1989 and now has more than 400 locations across the country.
The brand is known for its young, upscale clientele and the wide array of group classes that it offers.
