The Cycle Knights Motorcycle Club in Killeen presented a generous donation last week to the Rising Stars 3lite Cheer, Dance and Tumbling team for travel expenses to Orlando, Florida to attend a national competition in May.
Founded in 1996, Cycle Knights is the oldest motorcycle club in the area and their donations to community groups and organizations which benefit children is well documented. Members dug deep from their own pockets to support the competitors this year. They are hoping the team comes home with smiles and a winning attitude.
According to a letter from Melanie Thibodeaux, one of the team moms, they are now in season seven of the competitive season and have been invited to All Star World Competition.
The full list of funded expenses include transportation, lodging, dining, competition registration, theme parks, and new World Level costumes and choreography.
“We currently have 38 athletes from several different backgrounds to turn this dream into a reality. We can’t do it without the support of the community,” Thibodeaux wrote. “Our girls have worked so hard and are so excited about their invitation to Orlando.
The team also has a Go Fund Me account and a Facebook page for additional information.
