Czechia Wins Bronze Medal At 2025 World Juniors In Thrilling Shootout – FloHockey

An electrifying bronze medal matchup between Czechia and Sweden came down to 28 shootout attempts, an IIHF record, with Czechia taking home the victory.

The game was close all the way through, with both teams scoring a goal apiece in the first two periods. Afterward, the game was at a standstill as not even overtime would be enough to determine a winner. 

However, after multiple misses during the shootout, right winger Eduard Sale put the game to rest to secure the medal.

With the win, the Czechs will win a bronze medal in the world junior championships for the second straight year after defeating Finland 5-2 in the same game last year.
