Daniel Jones benched with Eagles embarrassing Giants in latest ugly game

Jones was benched in the fourth quarter of an ugly loss to the Eagles, with Big Blue trailing 28-3 and just about everything — again — going wrong for their offense.

He went 14 of 21 for 99 yards before getting replaced by Drew Lock, with the Giants’ offense managing just a field goal in the second quarter while the Eagles collected over 300 yards of offense.

After the loss, Daboll declared that Jones will remain the team’s starting quarterback.

Following a rough opener, Jones had bounced back with a handful of strong games, including a Week 5 win on the road against the Seahawks.

But he struggled in primetime again last week against the Bengals, before the Giants were embarrassed by their NFC East rival again Sunday.

Their chance to remain competitive for a division title has continued fading, and now, after Daboll’s decision, Jones’ grip on the Giants’ starting job will at least be questioned despite Daboll sticking by him.
