Daniele De Rossi discusses Roma’s transfer business so far

Roma manager Daniele De Rossi weighed in on the changes that the team has undergone so far this summer.

After Roma’s 0-1 defeat to Toulouse, De Rossi spoke to the media about the new tactical set-up, personnel changes and transfers.

”So far there’s nothing in particular that hit me, it’s all normal. It’s an intense preseason. You work hard to get better, that’s all.”

“There is a lot of affinity with my staff, we are waiting to have some more answers in the next few days from the players.”

“Now it’s all pretty obvious: I asked a player how he was at 70′ and he replied that he was like at the beginning, dead, and there’s nothing abnormal or surprising about it. It’s to be expected.”

”Dybala as a false nine? It’s a solution because we have in mind the idea of bringing in wingers who can cut into the box or who can dialogue with him.”

“It’s a role Dybala can play as long as the team follows him,” he added.

”Mikautadze? I can’t talk about players of other clubs. I don’t know how correct it is to get into the merits of that call that was positive with the boy, but I don’t have to talk about anything that is not tactical or the content of that call.”

”Abraham and Bove’s future? Tammy is a strong player, an important player, he could have a lot of market because he is an important player and has recovered. I’ve seen him the last 6 months and he comes from a very big injury.”

“I know what we’ve seen is not the real Tammy and we want to focus on strong players, the same goes for Bove. I evaluate, I watch them in training, I talk to the director and we look at the opportunities that the market and the demand of the players can give us, because they often want more space, they complain, I understand it and I have to accept it.”

”Sometimes if you want to sign someone you must sell someone first. Who goes, who stays, it all depends on opportunities that present themselves in July and August how you take advantage of them.”

”We want to improve the team and we are working with the club to bring further quality to this team.”

“Making judgements now would be incorrect, Of course there are players missing and positions to be filled, but the feeling is that strong players will come and that the team will be strong on September 1.”

“This is a long-term project and you can’t have everything right away. I would also like to have 10 players in one blow, but that’s not the case and you have to be patient. What is certain is that the team will be strong on September 1st.”
