Danville’s Office of Economic Development and Tourism recently launched a new survey specifically for business owners and entrepreneurs.

City leaders say they want to get a better understanding of their needs and overall experience. They are urging business owners to complete the survey because they said their voice is a crucial part of building a better business environment.

The survey includes questions about programs business owners may be interested in, their goals, demographics, and challenges.

Kelvin Perry, Assistant Director of Economic Development and Tourism, said they have already done programs and the past, but they want to expand those efforts.

“Whether it be a restaurant, or retail operation, or even some smaller commercial industries, we want to make sure that they’re getting the support that they need in order to grow and expand, to hire and to provide those amenities that we enjoy. So, we will make sure that we’re a part of that and putting them in touch with what resources are available to assist them in doing that,” Perry said.

Perry said with all the growth the city is seeing, this is more important than ever.

“We want to be seen as a business-friendly environment as more people come to visit Danville, we want to make sure that we’re offering them a variety of options and choices whereby people can shop and go out to eat or different type of retailers that may be out there that will find this as being a great place for them to own their respective business,” Perry said.

After the survey closes, Perry said that they will process all the input they receive. Then, they will begin to look at what type of programs they can bring to the table to expand options for business owners.

The survey will be available until mid-July. Click here to fill it out.
