Day 2 of World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest underway
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – We approach day two of four in the Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest at Liberty Park.
Many teams slept in tents overnight to marinate and prepare their meats for the judges.
We know there are four categories: whole hod, shoulder, ribs, and patio porkers.
Gates for attendees will open at 11 a.m.
As the teams cook for the judges, attendees can sample barbecue with other events.
Attendees can judge and taste some barbecue by purchasing a Kingsford Tour of Champions ticket.
At noon, the free Home Depot Outdoor Kitchen Demo includes free samples, demonstrations, and a meet and greet with legendary pitmasters.
At 1 p.m., the McCormick Demo Stage is free and it offers culinary tips.
The day wraps around 8:30 p.m. with live entertainment from Marcy Playground on the Cattlemen’s Stage.
