Join us as we wrap up yesterday’s results from a relatively straightforward set of matches in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia!

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

The quarter-finals of ML: BB rolled on yesterday, with another two matches being played to determine the last pair of semi-finalists.

First up was Falcons AP.Bren vs See You Soon, with Falcons putting on an incredibly dominant 3-0 performance to send See You Soon packing. The next match featuring NiP Flash and HomeBois was much more competitive, arguably being one of the most entertaining meetings of the Mid Season Cup so far.

HomeBois took map 1 16-23, with NiP answering back immediately on map 2 with a 16-4 stomp. Map 3 went in favour of HomeBois and yet again, NiP came back with a 23-4 whitewash on map 4.

Although HomeBois were initially predicted by many to take the win, it’s evident that NiP came to play, with their losses being narrow and their wins being dominant. Map 5 bucked this trend and after a back-and-forth affair, NiP Flash edged it out 18-15 to progress to the semis.

Dota 2

The big storyline from Dota 2 is that Team Falcons have started to steer themselves in the right direction following an abysmal start to the group stages. Falcons faced Aurora yesterday and showed just how strong their roster is when everyone is firing on all cylinders. They picked up at 2-0, winning in 27-13 and 19-8 fashion.

As for the defending Riyadh Masters champions, Team Spirit, they were forced to settle for a draw after going one map down against Gaimin Gladiators, a club that is seemingly the master of upsets in the 2024 EWC.

A total of 10 other matches were played yesterday, too, with the results for them being as follows:

  • beastcoast 2 – 0 MOUZ
  • Entity Esports 0 – 2 Tundra Esports
  • PSG Quest 1 – 1 Team Liquid
  • Xtreme Gaming 2 – 0 BetBoom Team
  • LGD Gaming 1- 1 Blacklist International
  • OG 2 – 0 Heroic
  • beastcoast 0 – 2 Entity Esports
  • MOUZ 1 – 1 BetBoom Team
  • Team Liquid 1 – 1 Tundra Esports
  • Xtreme Gaming 1 – 1 PSG Quest

Free Fire

Finally, on day 2 of Free Fire action, it was time to pit groups B and C against each other. Team Loud ran with their momentum from Wednesday’s matches, claiming first in this portion of the event with a total of 118 points. They were followed by Twisted Minds from Group C, sitting on 95 points, with the remaining three places in the top 5 going to clubs in Group B.

The current standings lean heavily in favour of Group B teams, as they have an extra day of results under their belts, however, the leaderboard could all change after today’s matches are all said and done. Six games will be played on what is the last day of the Free Fire groups, seeing Group A compete against Group C, as the Points Rush stage looms in the background for the top 12 clubs!
