Daya Vicentelli Failed In-Competition Drug Test at FITLAND Fitness Festival | BOXROX

Daya Vicentelli secured third place at last month’s FITLAND Fitness Festival and was expected to earn an invitation to compete in the LatAm Cup at the 2025 TYR Wodapalooza Miami. However, Vicentelli’s in-competition drug test came back positive for GW15166-sulfone, GW1516-sulfoxide, and metabolites of GW-501516.

FITLAND Fitness Festival conducted drug tests on the top three men and women from this year’s podium finishers, with Vicentelli being the only athlete to fail the test.

As a consequence, Kilya Marchant, who originally placed fourth, has been elevated to third place and will now receive the invitation to compete in the LatAm Cup in January.

The drug testing was administered by Drug Free Sport, the same agency that handles CrossFit’s drug testing program. Vicentelli is likely to face a four-year suspension from CrossFit as a result of the violation.

According to Section 11 of the 2024 CrossFit Games Drug Testing Policy, CrossFit “may… recognize drug-policy violations, including positive tests, reported by other national anti-doping organizations.” The policy further explains that after a final decision is made by the testing agency or governing body, CrossFit, LLC, will decide on an appropriate sanction for the athlete.

CrossFit previously applied this clause when it sanctioned Marcha van Glannen Weygel following a failed drug test at a Masters Weightlifting competition, which was reported in the media.

While FITLAND Fitness Festival organizers have shared the test results with CrossFit, no response has been received at the time of publication. Vicentelli is also not currently listed among athletes serving a sanction for violating the drug testing policy.

FITLAND Fitness Festival has been conducting drug tests for its top athletes since 2019.

Earlier this year, Vicentelli competed at the 2024 North America East Semifinal as part of Team CrossFit Soul Miami Team Soul, which finished 22nd overall.
