The University of Georgia Terry College of Business presented their annual economic predictions for the state on Friday at the Georgia Aquarium in downtown Atlanta.
The forecast focused on how shifting monetary policies and global trade could impact Georgia in the coming year, in which Terry College of Business Dean Benjamin C. Ayers said he expects to see continued growth.
Ahead of the event, Ayers joined “All Things Considered” to talk about what he’s expecting heading into 2025 with a new presidential administration preparing to take office.
The presentation also featured economists from the UGA Selig Center of Economic Growth to share their analysis of the opportunities and headwinds facing the state in 2025.
The keynote speaker was John Silva, former chief economist for Wells Fargo, who delivered the 2025 national economic forecast, and Dean Ayers delivered the state forecast.
