Deering senior Elsa Freeman, one of the state’s elite girls’ soccer players, signed her financial aid agreement to attend and play soccer at Boston College at a ceremony Wednesday at the high school. Freeman, the SMAA Forward of the Year, had a lot of schools interested in her, but the Eagles
“There was a lot to this process, so it’s such a relief to be done and I can’t wait to get to BC,” said Freeman, who plans to play striker. “BC was one of the top choices all along. I just love the campus and the competitiveness of the (Atlantic Coast Conference).”
“I always knew that Elsa was going to be a great player,” said Deering girls’ coach Paul Cameron. “She was our top goal scorer every year. Not only is she a really good player, good athlete, but she’s very humble as well. She’s always had a great attitude. She shows up and works hard and sets a good example. She’s been great for our program. I have no doubt that she’ll make things happen at the next level.”
