Designers’ Sketches From the Golden Globes 2025 Red Carpet Looks

On Sunday night, celebrities returned to the red carpet for the 2025 Golden Globes in Los Angeles, wearing an array of dazzling gowns and sleek suits from the likes of Prada, Saint Laurent, Loewe, Schiaparelli and more.

Ahead of the awards show, the likes of Armani, Schiaparelli, Dior, Prabal Gurung and Roberto Cavalli shared their sketches from the Golden Globes 2025 red carpet looks, as seen on the likes of Glenn Powell, Demi Moore, Gal Gadot, Nikki Glaser, Quinta Brunson and more.

“On the red carpet, it’s all about the angles that you create,” said Elle Fanning on Sunday afternoon, making her way down the Golden Globes in custom Balmain. The “A Complete Unknown” actress channeled Hollywood glamour while leaning into the archival fashion-loving moment in a custom recreation of the 1953 Pierre Balmain haute couture reverse champagne flute gown.

“Elle is seen wearing a Balmain custom made ball gown, made of draped satin and a beaded animal-print molded bustier. The dress is a recreation from a Pierre Balmain Haute Couture FW 1953 gown “reversed champagne flute,” the brand told WWD of the look. The two Balmain sketches given to WWD display the original Couture gown, which was crafted in tulle and fur, as well as Fanning’s number in satin featuring an animal print beaded bustier that can be seen within the brand’s latest pre-fall 2025 collection. The gown was accessorized with a signature belt, a detail also seen in Balmain’s pre-fall collection.

Meanwhile, Anna Sawai, who was named WWD’s Style Awards Fashion Newcomer to Watch on the Red Carpet, took Dior to a sleeker, edgier realm clad in a custom white leather bustier with white satin skirt, said to take 450 hours to make. In addition, the brand dressed Jodie Foster and Monica Bordo in gowns embellished by Chanakya Atelier.

“I’ve been a big fan of Nikki got a long time and we were so excited to work together for this huge moment. With this gown, we aimed for old Hollywood glamour where she can glow like a golden goddess on the red carpet,” Gurung told WWD of Glaser’s strapless silk satin column gown with overskirt and rosette detail at the hip, which the Golden Globes 2025 host wore on the red carpet.

“She will be a golden goddess, that’s for sure,” Glaser’s stylists Dani Charlton and Emma Rubenstein added of the gilded look.
