Developers report progress on $65 million Red Bank shopping, residential development
LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) – Construction on a mixed-use development in the Red Bank area of Lexington County is well underway, according to local real estate firm NAI Columbia.
Platt Springs Crossing is expected to be 57-acre development located between 5400 and 5470 Platt Springs Road. The firm states the center of the development features a 51,000 square-foot Lowes Foods grocery store, which will be surrounded by 10,000 square feet of adjacent retail space and another 8,400 parcel for medical-related retail.
Launched by Lexington Land Development Company, the project is estimated to cost $65 million. Developers said construction is 60% complete as of Aug. 19.
The development is set to include a wide array of businesses including Chipotle, Planet Fitness, Whataburger, Firestone, Panda Express, Heartland Dental, Well Street Urgent Care, Harbor Freight, Big Blue Marble Academy and a regional bank.
NAI Columbia said other users will be announced in the coming months.
In addition to the area’s retail, developers said the project also includes construction of 142 townhouses which have their sitework scheduled to begin in September. The first townhouses will be available to the public in the third quarter of 2025.
NAI Columbia noted the vertical construction has already begun for Chipotle and added the groundbreakings for the Panda Express, Whataburger, Harbor Freight, Big Blue Marble Academy and medical retail space are expected within the next 60 days.
