Do You Have One of the 25 Highest Paying Jobs In Shreveport-Bossier?

Data collection site Stacker.com used information from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics to compile a list of the highest paying jobs in the country. A pretty tall task itself. But they went even further, by breaking the information down by local areas.

These 25 are sourced from a larger list of 50 Shreveport-Bossier jobs with the highest average pay. Which is all based on “averages”, not specifics. Because even though the tie for #1 makes an average of $239,200 a year, there are people in Shreveport-Bossier who make more than that annually. In fact, there are people with those #1 rated jobs who make more (that’s how an average works).

This is also constantly evolving information. Yearly, some professions fall off out of the top 25, and some fall off the list of 50 altogether. Just a few years ago, jobs like Civil Engineer and Industrial Engineer were inside the top 25 jobs. Those have since fallen out of the top 25, while remaining inside the top 50. This is just for Shreveport too, so they may still rank higher in other metro areas.

These ranking also include the amount of people in the Shreveport-Bossier area who have those jobs. So even though two careers are tied for #1, there are more than double the amount of Physicians than Anesthesiologists.

The information included the average salary for each position in the country, what that position pays in the Shreveport area, and how these numbers rank. They also looked at overall pay in metro areas. Like in the Shreveport area, the annual average salary is $45,260. That’s a massive 22.3% lower than national average of $58,260.
