Dolphin Entertainment acquires Elle Communications

NEW YORK: Dolphin Entertainment has acquired Elle Communications, a PR agency specialzing in social and environmental impact. 

Elle will become a division of Dolphin subsidiary 42West, joining the network’s collection of specialty agencies, including PR firms Shore Fire Media and The Door; influencer marketing agency The Digital Department and celebrity booking and event agency Special Projects.

The deal makes Elle the ninth specialized agency brought together by Dolphin founder and CEO Bill O’Dowd under his network’s umbrella, the company said in a statement. 

Elle founder and CEO Danielle Finck and president Silvie Snow-Thomas will continue to lead the firm with its entire senior leadership team and staff under Dolphin Entertainment. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. 

Clare Advisors MD John Burns made the introduction between Dolphin and Elle and helped to facilitate the transaction. K&L Gates partners Erin Fogarty and Clay Parker served as legal counsel for Dolphin. Malte Farnaes was legal counsel for Elle.

Finck founded Elle in 2008. The agency has offices in Los Angeles and New York. It has worked with clients including Adidas, prepared meals chain Everytable, Uber and UNICEF, according to the firm’s website. 

Dolphin acquired 42West in 2017. With offices in New York and Los Angeles, 42West has four divisions: talent, strategic communications, entertainment marketing and fandoms and franchises.

Dolphin Entertainment is an independent entertainment marketing and content production company. It is publicly traded on the Nasdaq stock exchange.
