As mentioned, developers now have the option to download the latest iOS 18.2 beta 3 on their iPhones through the Settings app. However, you must make sure that your Apple ID is linked to your Developer Account. Once you do that, simply head over to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Update > and download the latest build. The process is the same for iPadOS 18.2 beta 3, so follow the same instructions.
Apple has added a slew of bug fixes and new changes in the latest iOS 18.2 beta 3. Most importantly, iOS 18.2 beta 3 is bringing a major change to the video player on the iPhone. Currently, when you open a video, it is played on a white background. It will continue to be like this until you tap the display, which will turn the background black, making it sort of like a full-screen experience. Tapping on the display now will simply hide the video playback controls.
There is also a new setting for iPhone 16 users related to the Camera Control. Currently, you have to press the Camera Control button twice, one to wake it up and the next to tap to launch the preferred camera app. Now, you have the option in Settings to launch the camera with a single tap.
Other than those two major additions, the company has also updated the Writing Tools copy-and-paste menu, which appears in the first section of the menu, which means that you do not have to scroll to the bottom. The feature also added new ‘Share Item Location’ details to the latest beta, which the company also announced in a press release. All of these features and ChatGPT integration will be available to the general public next month. We will keep you posted, so be sure to stick around.
