Tuesday morning, when an employee of the Bangor Wine and Cheese Company opened the shop, they say something seemed off.

Between closing Monday and opening Tuesday morning, someone broke into the shop and stole cash from the shop, an old safe that wasn’t being used which they hauled out with a red dolly from the shop.

The owners say the suspect was caught on camera also trying to break into the restaurant next door and they fear they may be making their way around downtown businesses.

But it does seem, as I said, that he tried to get into every business down here so it’s likely that he didn’t just get lucky with us,” said Eric Mihan, Owner and CEO of Bangor Wine and Cheese Company.

Mihan advises those working and visiting downtown to be vigilant.
