Eastern Lake County Chamber of Commerce program looks at sports gambling’s impact

The Eastern Lake County Chamber of Commerce will be holding a program on May 14 looking at the “Impact of Legalized Sports Gambling and the Workplace.”

It will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., at Morley Library, 184 Phelps St. in Painesville. Speakers will be Claire Spada of Problem Gambling Network of Ohio and Devan Capella of Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers.

The talk will look at how legalized sports betting has affected Ohio’s employers and employees. And it will address questions like has legalization led to more calls to the gambling hotline, what can employers do to help, and what workplace policies should be in place, according to a news release.

Tickets are $20 per person and includes lunch from Charley’s Philly Steaks. Register at business.easternlakecountychamber.org/events or call the chamber at 440-357-7572.
