Ella Emhoff’s Latest Look Is Where Wednesday Addams Meets Girlhood

When Vice President Kamala Harris announced her run for president this past summer, a spotlight even bigger than before was shone on her family: her husband, Doug Emhoff, and her stepchildren, Ella and Cole. While this increased exposure certainly came with its pros and cons, the fashion world earned a major player as we got better acquainted with Harris’s stylish stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff.

Though tracking politicians’ and politician-adjacent people’s style can at times feel monotonous, Emhoff has been a breath of fresh air for the White House. From the day she wore that Miu Miu coat at the inauguration, to the moment she stepped onstage at the 2024 DNC in a custom-made Joe Ando dress, we have not been able to take our eyes off her.

At this point, Emhoff has become a fixture of the fashion world, so it was not a huge surprise to see her in attendance at the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards last night. And, as always, she captured us instantly with her look.

The Parsons alum arrived to the event in a cozy achromatic ensemble from Coach, which was a reimagining of one of the looks from the brand’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection.

Emhoff’s fit consisted of a fuzzy gray cami paired with a plaid maxi skirt. The front of the skirt was decorated with a giant fur bow that was made of the same gray material as her top, with a thin layer of tulle stitched behind it.

To complete the outfit, Emhoff wore a pair of black leather boots and carried a matching coal-colored bag. Clearly, the aspiring fashion designer has been paying attention to charm trend, because her bag was adorned with a number of trinkets, including a baby blue bow and bedazzled charms in the shape of dice and cars. Meanwhile, she seemed to wink to the current spooky season by rocking one pendant earring in the form of a tarantula.

This is not the first time Emhoff has repped Coach; in September, she walked in the label’s Spring/Summer 2025 show. It was actually one of three runways that Emhoff walked during New York Fashion Week, along with Proenza Schouler’s and Eckhaus Latta’s. From modeling to knitting her own designs, it seems there’s no part of the fashion world that Emhoff can’t conquer.
