Emma Stone Is “Fine” With Being Called ‘Emma’ Despite Prior Comments

Emma Stone is “fine” not being called by her birth name, Emily, despite having previously said that she prefers her real name. During an appearance on the ‘Today Show,’ host Craig Melvin asked the actress, “Are we still going by Emma? Or Emily?” The ‘La La Land’ actor clarified, “I’m fine either way, I really am. My real name is Emily, though.” Stone explained that she went by ‘Emma’ as ‘Emily Stone’ was already registered with the Screen Actors Guild. “It’s sort of like when you register a business, and you can’t have the same name as someone else,” added the star. The actress insists, “you can call me whatever you like,” but she would also “like to be Emily.”
