Garrison Keillor Tonight. An evening of stand-up, storytelling, audience song, and poetry. One man, one microphone. There are sung sonnets, limericks and musical jokes, and the thread that runs through it is the beauty of growing old. Despite the inconvenience, old age brings the contentment of less is more. Your mistakes and big ambitions are behind you, nothing left to prove, and small things give you great pleasure because that’s what’s left. 7:30 p.m. Thursday, at the Strand Theatre at the Appell Center, 50 N. “BIG, The Musical.” The classic 1987 motion picture fantasy that starred Tom Hanks bursts onto the stage. Complete with Zoltar, a giant floor piano, and high-energy singing and dancing, this Tony Award nominee for Best Musical has something for everyone. 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 3 p.m. Sunday at the Belmont Theatre, 27 S. Belmont St., York. Tickets $32 adults, $30 seniors (62+), $20 18 and under; $2 fee per ticket.

Ohio Valley Military Society. A military antiques extravaganza, the Ohio Valley Military Society is one the oldest and largest Militaria collector’s clubs in the world with over 4,000 current members. The society promotes the study and the discussion of military history, military artifacts, and their provenance through the collecting of military items. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, at the York Expo Center, 334 Carlisle Ave., York. Tickets $10 per day, $18 for a two-day pass. Children under 18 are free with an adult.

York Antique Show. 65 select exhibitors featuring 18th & 19th century American, English, primitive and period furniture and accessories. Featuring fine early China and glassware, 18th & 19th century silver, Chinese export porcelain, oriental rugs, fine antique jewelry, antique toys and much more. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, at the York Expo Center. Tickets $10.

Family Workshop: Theatre Games for the Whole Family. Enjoy a mix of fun theatre games and imaginative storytelling for the whole family that will spark creativity and build confidence through the powerful play of acting and theatre. Family fun is guaranteed, along with great ideas for games and activities to take home for your next family game night. 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Strand Theatre Lobby at the Appell Center. Pre-teen Workshop: Intro to Shakespeare. Step into the world of Shakespeare as this workshop explores scenes from some of the Bard’s classic works. Participants will not only explore the language but build their confidence and enhance their acting skills as they discover the joys and thrills of Shakespearean theatre. 1 p.m. Saturday, at the Strand Theatre Lobby at the Appell Center. CapFilm: “Spirited Away.” Chihiro’s family is moving to a new house, but when they stop on the way to explore an abandoned village, her parents undergo a mysterious transformation and Chihiro is whisked into a world of fantastic spirits ruled over by the sorceress Yubaba. Put to work in a magical bathhouse for spirits and demons, Chihiro must use all her wits to survive in this strange new place, find a way to free her parents and return to the normal world. Overflowing with imaginative creatures and thrilling storytelling, Spirited Away became a worldwide smash hit, and is one of the most critically-acclaimed films of all time. 7 p.m. Saturday, at the Strand Theatre at the Appell Center. Dionne Warwick. Dionne Warwick is a six-time Grammy Award-winning music legend who has earned more than 75 charted hit songs and sold over 100 million records. She recorded 18 consecutive Top 100 singles (“Don’t Make Me Over,” Walk on By,” “Say a Little Prayer,” “A House is Not a Home,” “Alfie,” “Heartbreaker,” “Déjà Vu,” among countless others). She received her first Grammy in 1968 for “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?” Warwick became the first African-American solo female artist of her generation to win the prestigious award for Best Contemporary Female Vocalist Performance. 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Pullo Center, 1031 Edgecomb Ave., York. CapFilm: “Stand and Deliver.” Edward James Olmos stars as Jaime Escalante in this inspirational true story about a teacher and the unmotivated East Los Angeles high school students who he inspires, badgers, threatens and humors into learning the most demanding of all math sciences–calculus. But the accomplishment is so utterly fantastic that the students are accused of cheating. Given a choice to accept the allegation or retake an extremely demanding examination to prove themselves, the students decide to stand and deliver. 3 p.m. Sunday, at the Capitol Theatre at the Appell Center. Free.

Glow Dance Party. Grab your friends, throw on your best club outfit, and head to the Appell Center. They’re turning the Strand Theatre stage into a pop-up club for Glow Dance Party with DJ GiGi Marrero. GiGi brings the heat and the energy to the dance floor, so get ready to move to house music, Latin mixes, your favorite throwbacks, remixes and more for this visually spectacular party. 7:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Strand Theatre at the Appell Center. Tickets $20 in advance, $25 at the door.

Candlelight: A Tribute to Queen. Candlelight concerts bring the magic of a live, multi-sensory musical experience to awe-inspiring locations like never seen before in York-Hanover. Introduction to Hawkwatching. Join Randy Phillips at the overlook to learn the basics of Hawkwatching during the peak of broad-winged hawk migration. Every fall volunteers across the country count migrating raptors to collect valuable population data.
