Theaters, bowling, arcade and more expected to bring city together
HUTTO – A June 21 groundbreaking ceremony kicked off construction on a next-generation entertainment venue that city officials claim will bring community spirit to the forefront.
The nearly 55,000-square-foot EVO Entertainment complex, coming just off of U.S. Highway 79 will be complete with 12 bowling lanes, an expansive arcade, bar, restaurant, private event spaces and eight luxury dine-in movie theaters with IMAX and EVX formats.
“This is going to be a true gathering place for all of our friends and family to share experiences together,” Elevate Entertainment Group founder and CEO Mitch Roberts said.
The massive project’s groundbreaking marked months of collaboration and dedication between city officials and the Austin-based entertainment professionals, according to Roberts.
The founder took his time in front of the crowd at 180 Alliance Blvd. to thank the city, its Economic Development Corporation and the community for their continuous support.
“Our EDC board is some great-minded folks that have a great vision for Hutto, both short-term and long-term,” Brian Thompson said, Hutto EDC board member and City Council member. “I’m sure this is going to be a longstanding partnership that will benefit our community for decades to come. I think this is something that’s going to solve the need here in the city of Hutto for both young folks as well as older folks.”
Thompson shared his appreciation for the EVO Entertainment team for choosing Hutto to “plant fruits,” and for the EDC board for the opportunity to bring an establishment like this to the city.
Mayor Mike Snyder stated that the site will also bring in new sources of tax revenue from both residents and visitors, keeping money inside the city.
The closest movie theater with IMAX capabilities is more than 14 miles away from the central Hutto site.
The complex is slated for an early summer 2025 completion date, according to the EDC board.
“This is going to be a huge draw for the people of Hutto… and I look forward to the ribbon cutting around the corner,” Snyder added, as event attendees snacked on movie popcorn and candy.
