Entertainment critic Derek Sante checks out ‘Dark Matter,’ ‘The Fall Guy’
Las Vegas (KSNV) — First up, we look a little ahead at the new Apple TV + series Dark Matter. Starring Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connoly, this series is based on a best-selling book that looks at Sci-fi questions pertaining to multiple universes and dealing with yourself. The story follows Jason Dessen as he is abducted into an alternate version of his life; to get back to his true family, he embarks on a harrowing journey to save them from the most terrifying foe imaginable: himself. Grade A-
Next up, in theaters comes a fun comedy ride with The Fall Guy. Riding on stunts and a comedic personality, this film is an easy escape at the theaters as Gosling leans into his snarkiness when he portrays a Hollywood Stuntman pulled into his own action story. For those looking for a theatrical escape this weekend, I recommend this film. I give it a B+. And make sure to stay for the Stunt credits.
Lastly, also coming to Apple TV Plus is the return of 80’s comedy with Acapulco Season 3. This season Maximo raises his position and his problems as he grows his future empire. At the same time, the future Maximo, played by Eugenio Derbez, looks to reconnect with his past in more than just stories. Filled with humor and crazy nostalgic music and moments, this season is not to be missed. I’ll give it a grade of B.
