In theaters comes Kevin Costner’s dream of the Old West with Horizon: An American Saga. A film that focuses on many stories of the Old West, but extremely gritty and true to history. We follow many people on their quests for a better and sometimes just life. An interesting film that might be spreading its arms a little wide, but with many parts to this saga in Costner’s mind. I’ll give him a grade of B- then wait and see.

Also, in theaters comes the prequel that should be whispered. The Quiet Place: Day One Lupita N’yongo stars as a woman dying of cancer who rides into New York City with her Hospice group. Which ends up being a bad decision as fury and angry monsters rain down. Clinging to life and her own destiny, she finds a companion with actor Joseph Quin, and they grasp for humanity while constantly being hunted. As a grade, I’ll give it a B. There’s a lot of melancholy and emotion to go with the jump scares and suspense.

Heading to Netflix, we look at That ’90s Show as they release Part 2. Red and Kitty Foreman return with their granddaughter and her friends taking over the garage and engaging in teenage behavior. Sitting down with Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith on the set, I asked them when they first connected with the audience and characters in the first series. After going down that memory lane, I asked them about Red and Kitty now as grandparents. Grade A

Also on streaming comes a reimaging with My Lady Jane on Amazon Prime Video. Starring Emily Bader and Edward Bluemel, this story follows the true story of Lady Jane Grey, who was pushed to the throne with disastrous results. That’s the true history version anyway. This new version is bombastic and fun as snark and attitude hold sway in this tudors framework. Grade: B-
