JUST FOR FUN

Poe and potations

Combine literature and cocktails at an “Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy,” 6, 8 and 10 p.m. Aug. 8-10 at the Albert Pike Masonic Center, 712 Scott St., Little Rock. “The historic venue dates to 1924, providing the perfect backdrop for this pop-up Poe speakeasy,” according to a Facebook event post.

The “Poe Historians” will retell, with modern spin, Poe tales including “The Raven,” “The Masque of the Red Death” and “The Tell-Tale Heart,” while guests 21 and older (with valid ID) sip signature accompanying cocktails — for example, “Pale Blue Eye” and “Edgar’s Twisted Brandy Milk Punch.” Tickets are $48-$55.
