Royal ‘Hunchback’

The Royal Players stage “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” (music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, book by Peter Parnell, based on the Disney animated film and the novel by Victor Hugo), 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and Aug. 15-17 and 2 p.m. Sunday and Aug. 18 at the Royal Theatre, 111 S. Market St., Benton. The production has a strobe and haze warning. Steel sculptures

More than a dozen new sculptures, crafted from stainless steel and Cor-Ten steel by Massachusetts sculptor Dale Rogers, debut Thursday on the Arkansas State University-Mountain Home-City of Mountain Home Art Walk, 1600 S. College St., Mountain Home. The works will be up for six months; community members can select four or five pieces to be permanently featured along the James and Sally Moore Recreational Trail at the university and the Shirley Baker Nature Trail in Mountain Home’s McCabe Park. Oils and acrylics

The Arkansas River Valley Arts Center, 1001 E. B St., Russellville, opens a show of oil and acrylic paintings by art instructor Lisa Jones in its Main Gallery with a 6-8 p.m. reception Friday. Family Fun Day

North Little Rock CARES Youth Coalition holds a family fun day, featuring bounce houses, face painting, haircuts and guest speakers, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the Sherman Park Community Center, 624 Beech St., North Little Rock. ‘Idol Across America’

“American Idol” holds an open audition call via Zoom in Arkansas on Monday.
