Entertainment lineup set for the 120th Kentucky State Fair

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — “Jump on It,” “Come on Feel the Noize” and “Happy Together” are just a few of the hits you may hear if you’re visiting the 120th Kentucky State Fair Aug. 15-25.

Fair organizers announced the entertainment lineup for the 2024 event June 5, including the full Texas Roadhouse Summer Concert Series lineup. It includes everything from classic rock bands to country and hip-hop favorites and even some of Kentucky’s own. 

For the first time in more than six years, the fair is also hosting a double-headlining performance Aug. 25. Renowned Mexican band Geru y Su Legión 7 will perform in the BIG tent while Christian singer Tauren Wells and special guest Consumed By Fire take the Texas Roadhouse Concert Series Stage shortly after 7 p.m. 

All shows are free with fair admission. The concert area opens daily at 6:30 p.m. and concerts begin at 8 p.m. except Aug. 25, when the area opens at 5:30 p.m.

Here’s a look at the full lineup:

  • Thursday, Aug. 15 — Lonestar and Eddie Montgomery
  • Friday, Aug. 16 — The Sugarhill Gang Melle Mel & Scorpio (of Furious Five) with special guest Ying Yang Twins
  • Saturday, Aug. 17 — Stephen Pearcy of Ratt with special guest Quiet Riot
  • Sunday, Aug. 18 — The Oak Ridge Boys with special guests The Country Gold Tour including Leroy Van Dyke, Linda Davis, Jimmy Fortune and Rockland Road, who will perform the national anthem and “God Bless the U.S.A.”
  • Monday, Aug. 19 — CAIN with special guest Katy Nichole
  • Tuesday, Aug. 20 — “Happy Together” including The Turtles, The Cowsills, Badfinger, The Vogues, The Association and Jay and the Americans
  • Wednesday, Aug. 21 — Justin Moore with special guest Alex Miller
  • Thursday, Aug. 22 — Everclear with special guest Marcy Playground
  • Friday, Aug. 23 — 38 Special with special guest Exile
  • Saturday, Aug. 24 — Lauren Alaina with special guests Mackenzie Porter and Kelsey Hart
  • Sunday, Aug. 25 (7 p.m. show) — Tauren Wells with special guest Consumed By Fire 

More than two dozen bands will also perform at the BIG Tent and the Budweiser Tent, both of which will feature music all-day. Including the concert series, specialty performances and family shows, more than 70 acts will perform in this year’s fair, organizers said. 

Also part of the fair is the 121st World’s Championship Horse Show Aug. 17-24 at Freedom Hall. With more than 200 classes, thousands of participants from around the U.S. will compete for more than $1.5 million in prizes and World’s Championship titles. Tickets will go on sale June 17 on the World’s Championship Horse Show website

Other highlights include hundreds of vendors in the Merchant Shops, livestock competitions and indoor exhibits such as “Pride of the Counties,” which pays tribute to Kentucky’s 120 counties and all they have to offer. Thrill-seekers can also get their fill at Thrill Ville, which will feature at least 50 thrill and family rides and the iconic Astro Ferris Wheel. 

Organizers said tickets are now available online for $8, and fee-free tickets are available at select Kroger stores for $9. Parking is also included with early bird ticket purchases, a $10 savings. Thrill Ville wristbands are now available for $30, a $5 savings, online and at select Kroger stores.
