MUSIC

‘Breath of Heaven’

The Muses Project performs “a message of peace, hope and joy, through the beauty of song, word, and dance” that it’s calling “Breath of Heaven,” the organization’s annual “Voices of Angels” sacred classical Christmas concerts:

◼️ 6 p.m. Thursday, student show at the Muses Cultural Arts Center, 428 Orange St., Hot Springs. Admission is free for artists and performers, students and teachers, who must call (501) 609-9811 to register.

◼️ 7 p.m. Friday, Woodlands Auditorium, 1101 DeSoto Blvd., Hot Springs Village. Tickets are $35.

◼️ 3 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 15, Muses Cultural Arts Center. $35.Call (501) 609-9811 or visit themusesproject.org.

◼️ 7 p.m. Dec. 16, Westover Hills Presbyterian Church, 6400 Kavanaugh Blvd. in Little Rock. Admission is free. Call (501) 663-6383.

The program will consist primarily of sacred compositions by Benjamin Britten, Antonio Vivaldi, Edwin Fissinger and Caroline Shaw, in contemporary arrangements with lyrics in French, Latin, German and English.

Chapel concerts

Concerts on tap this week in Anthony Chapel at Garvan Woodland Gardens, 550 Arkridge Road, Hot Springs:

◼️ The Village Chorale offers a program of sacred and secular seasonal music titled “The Joy of Christmas,” 6:30 p.m. Monday. Tickets — $20, $20 for members, $15 for children 12 and younger — include admission to Garvan Gardens’ Holiday Lights. Visit tinyurl.com/mpdx9ymx.

◼️ The Ringers of Hope Bell Choir from Ouachita Hills Academy in Amity performs “the sound of English handbells, inspiring orchestral music and delightful vocal renditions of Christmas classics and modern compositions” (according to a news release) at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. ◼️ Hot Springs musicians Allie Anderson, Levi Wilson and Doug Lackey, who constitute “Allie Anderson & Friends,” perform Christmas classics and contemporary favorites at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. In the Zone

Holiday open house

The Rogers Historical Museum, 313 S. Second St, at Cherry Street, hosts its 24th holiday open house, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday with the theme “Oh, Christmas Tree.” It includes guided tours of the 1895 Hawkins House, decorated to show how a middle-class family, living in Rogers at the turn of the 20th century, would prepare their home during the holiday season, as well as seasonal crafts and a letter-to-Santa writing station. Friends of the Rogers Historical Museum is providing Christmas refreshments. Santa Claus will read Clement Moore’s “A Visit From St. Nicholas” (aka ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas”) at 1 p.m., followed by a Christmas carol sing-along. Admission is free.
