Entertainment venues and events to look forward to in 2025 in Greenville, the Upstate

play

As Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson’s social, sports, and entertainment scene continues to grow, 2025 will bring in a handful of new and continued concepts to the area, further heightening the attractions and interest in the Upstate.

In 2024, the Upstate saw concerts by John Legend, Thomas Rhett, Tim McGraw, T-Pain, and more as national recording artists, large production Broadway shows, and sporting events took place from Spartanburg to Clemson.

In 2025, the Upstate will experience even more as artists such as Blake Shelton and Rascal Flatts are scheduled for performances. The Broadway production of Hamilton is set to return to Greenville, and shows such as the Dancing with the Stars Tour and growing attractions such as the Greenville Jazz Festival are sure to be popular events.

As the entertainment scene continues to emerge as one of the fastest-growing places in the southeast, here are the venues and events to look forward to in 2025 and beyond:

New venues expected to open in the Upstate in 2025

Trueline (West End)

The proposed 2,500-person capacity music and event space at 401 E. Rhett St. is currently in its construction phase with nearly a year of work to go as the plan to bring pop, hip-hop, and country artists to Greenville is expected to take shape in the latter part of 2025.

In a style similar to various House of Blues venues across the country, the 30,000-square-foot space at the former location of D&B Glass plans to curate a space that attracts large-level artists such as Lil Wayne, The Struts and Brett Young to appear in Greenville while also serving as a local artist incubator and community music hub.

The project is headed by Michael Grozier, CEO of Trueline Brands, and is set to include:

  • A 1,700-capacity main room amphitheater called The Concert Hall will include 129 balcony seats.
  • A 400-capacity small room called The Handlebar will serve as an ode to John Jeter, “The Godfather of Greenville’s music scene.”
  • A 150-capacity VIP room known as The Greenroom.
  • A 250-capacity outdoor music space known as The Clubhouse, pending city of Greenville approval.
  • Four standing-room platforms in The Concert Hall allow easy sightlines to the stage.
