Epic Fit Fest Brings Out Dallas’ Black Fitness Lovers for a Day of Wellness and Community
The inaugural Epic Fit Fest, held on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024, at The Epic in Grand Prairie, TX, brought together over 400 fitness enthusiasts and wellness advocates for a day filled with energetic activities, health-focused vendors, and community engagement for the Black community. With an impressive lineup of sponsors like Red Bull, Texas Trust Credit Union, Urban Skin RX, and more, the sunny outdoor event showcased the vibrant fitness culture of the Dallas area.
The day kicked off at 10 a.m. with an invigorating warm-up led by Theo Murdaugh, founder of Run It Up Dallas, followed by high-energy HIIT classes from fitness experts D Nicole Monroe and Baylore Walker. Attendees were then treated to a unique Trap Yoga session with Devyn Walker, blending fitness with fun in an engaging atmosphere.
Co-founder Dr. Kristi Andrew expressed her excitement, saying, “Seeing the community come together in celebration of health and wellness was truly inspiring.” VIP guests received pampering from Total Wellness & Beauty with B12 shots and IV drips, while the TRZ Recovery Tent, YMCA Motus Fit, and Green Jacket Indoor Golf offered additional wellness experiences.
More than 20 local vendors showcased products and services, giving attendees a chance to explore health and wellness options in the community. Food trucks like CJ’s Brunch House, Kev’s Que, and Supermarket Stakeout winner Chef Allen kept everyone fueled and satisfied.
DJ Duffey, also a co-founder, summed up the event perfectly: “We are thrilled with how it turned out and can’t wait for the next one!” Stay tuned for future Epic Fit Fest events by following @epicfitfest on social media.
