Eric Navarre named Destin Chamber’s Business Person of the Quarter

Eric Navarre, Emerald Coast market president with Renasant Bank, has been named the Destin Chamber’s Business Person of the Quarter.

The award was presented by the chamber’s board of directors during the Destin Chamber’s Business Before Hours meeting on Nov. 8. The award goes to an area businessperson who shows vision for his or her business and leadership in the community.

“I’ve known Eric for a long time. I’ve watched him grow and develop into a seasoned business executive and a leader in many facets of our community. It’s been a lot of fun to watch that development, beginning with his year in Destin Forward. I’m happy our board voted him as the winner of the award,” said Shane A. Moody, Destin chamber president and CEO.

“Eric encourages his team to share our ideas, concerns and provide feedback on ways we can improve as a bank or he could improve as a leader. He checks in with us to make sure we are ok and see if he can help in any way. Eric truly empowers his employees and makes us feel valued,” as stated in Navarre’s nomination form.

Navarre has been in his current role since October 2018. Prior to joining Renasant Bank, he was with Trustmark Bank for more than 20 years, serving as executive vice president and commercial banking manager.

His community involvement includes serving as a current board member of the Northwest Florida State College Foundation, a past president of FC Dallas Emerald Coast, a past board member of the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce, and a past chairman of the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation.

He received his MBA from Millsaps College in 1999 and his master’s in banking from Louisiana State University in 2007.
