‘Escape From Tarkov’ Wipe Release Time And Server Downtime Announced
The next Escape From Tarkov wipe will launch tomorrow alongside the massive 0.15 patch, and now we know exactly when the patch will come out. But, there is also set to be a lot of server downtime where the Tarkov servers will be down and the game not playable.
In a post on the official Escape From Tarkov social media accounts, the development team confirmed that the 0.15 patch for Tarkov, as well as the new wipe, will be installed at 7 AM BST / 2 AM EDT tomorrow, August 20. The installation is expected to take at least eight hours, but as always this can be extended if the team runs into issues installing the update.
This means that, should the installation complete on schedule, the new Escape From Tarkov patch and wipe will be playable at 3 PM BST / 10 AM EDT. So that is the time that you will want to try and log into the launcher and try to download the patch.
However, as we have seen many times before, the amount of people who will want to try the new update can cause issues for the servers. Frequently the password reset system is one of the first to go down due to the amount of requests it gets once the patch launches, so if you haven’t logged into the Tarkov launcher for months it might be a good idea to do that today and make sure you are signed in before the new patch launches.
Once the patch launches, a lot of new features will be added to the game. Here’s a helpful list of all the additions we already know about, but the highlights include some new weapons, the new factory map and a new boss who might be enough to make me quit the PvP mode for good.
Is Escape From Tarkov Down Because Of The Wipe?
The Escape From Tarkov servers will be down on August 20 starting at 7 AM BST / 2 AM EDT while the new patch and wipe is installed. They will be down for approximately eight hours, and during this time the game will not be playable at all.
Providing the patch installation goes well, the servers should be back online around 3 PM BST / 10 AM EDT. When they return the new patch will have been installed and for PvP players your progress will have been wiped.
Unfortunately, the PvE mode will also be down and inaccessible during this time thanks to the fact it needs to connect to the Battlestate Games servers.
