Euro 2024 highlights: England draws 1-1 with underdog Denmark

Published

on

Denmark battled Euro 2024 favorite England to a 1-1 draw Thursday, meaning the Three Lions will have to wait to formally clinch their spot in the knockout stage despite entering as tournament favorites.

Harry Kane opened the scoring in the 18th minute off a deflected Kyle Walker cross for the England captain’s record 13th major tournament goal for his country.

However, Denmark equalized in the 34th minute thanks to one of the most stunning scores of the tournament from Morten Hjulmand, his first international goal. It was the longest goal of the tournament, struck nearly 24 yards from goal.

Despite entering as underdogs (+260 to draw, +450 to win outright on BetMGM), Denmark completed more passes, had more tackles and forced more corner kicks than heavyweight England.
