In Windsor, a tree came crashing through a home on Robin Road.

Cleanup could take a while.

From power outages and getting roads cleared to making sure local businesses are back up and running, some folks were working around the clock to make sure the impact of the storms was as limited as possible.

According to Eversource, tens of thousands of people were left in the dark Wednesday night. While significant progress in restoring power was made, a couple thousand were still waiting for the lights to come back on.

Those in the food industry said it was particularly difficult keeping ingredients cool. Some had to throw out almost all of their inventory.

“[It’s] pizza Friday,” said Michael Androw, E&D Pizza Company. “We have to be ready to go. As it stands now, we have to get rid of all of our product. Start from scratch.”

Power crews said they were working overtime to restore electricity as soon as possible.
