Sony’s latest State of Play livestream was full of game announcements and updates for all things PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR 2. PlayStation fans got a look at multiple new remasters, including updated versions of Horizon Zero Dawn and a pair of Soul Reaver games. And there was new content in there too, including a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima and lots of DLC for already-released PlayStation favorites.

Every big announcement from PlayStation’s new State of Play
If you couldn’t watch September’s State of Play showcase live, here’s a recap of all the game announcements, release dates, trailers, and other highlights from Sony’s stream.
Sony and Sucker Punch revealed the sequel to 2020’s Ghost of Tsushima, a follow-up that will star a new protagonist. From the game’s official description: “In 1603, a new Ghost named Atsu sets out on a journey in the lands surrounding Mount Yōtei, an area filled with sprawling grasslands, snowy tundras, and unexpected dangers.” Ghost of Yotei is coming to PlayStation 5 in 2025.
Three hundred collectible bots not enough for ya? Good news, then, because the Astro Bot collectathon will continue with free downloadable content that will bring new VIP Bots — including some from Stellar Blade and Helldivers 2 — to the nostalgia-laden platformer. Five new online speedrun levels are also coming with this fall’s free update.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Guerrilla Games’ 2017 open-world post-post-apocalyptic adventure Horizon Zero Dawn is the latest PlayStation game getting a remaster for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. Sony promises enhanced graphical fidelity and re-recorded dialogue. Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster will be out on Oct. 31, and anyone who owns the original PS4 version will be able to upgrade to the remastered version for $9.99.
Aloy’s original adventure is also getting reimagined in Lego form. Extremely silly Lego form. Lego Horizon Adventures got a release date at State of Play, confirming the game’s launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC: It’s out Nov. 14.
Monster Hunter Wilds release date
Capcom gave the Monster Hunter faithful an extended new look at next year’s big open-world sequel Monster Hunter Wilds. But more importantly, we got a release date: Feb. 28, 2025. More from Monster Hunter Wilds will be shown at Tokyo Game Show later this week.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins release date
Koei Tecmo and Omega Force’s first mainline entry in the historical hack-and-slash Dynasty Warriors franchise since 2018 now has a release date: Jan. 17, 2025. Dynasty Warriors: Origins is coming to PS5 in 2025, with versions for Windows PC and Xbox Series X as well.
Coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2, The Midnight Walk is a dark fantasy adventure from the developers behind Lost in Random. As the Burnt One, you’ll befriend a lost lantern creature named Potboy and use his flame to light your way through a conflicting world of wonder and terror, according to the game’s official description. The Midnight Walk is coming to PS5 and PSVR2 in spring 2025.
Our first look at gameplay footage from Hell Is Us shows the dark action-adventure game set in a war-torn country. Hell Is Us is coming to PS5 in 2025.
In, let’s say, auspicious timing, the Pokémon-with-guns game Palworld is now available on PlayStation 5.
Alan Wake 2: The Lake House
Remedy’s second add-on for Alan Wake 2, The Lake House, is coming to the psychological horror game in October. The second of two announced DLC expansions will send players to a mysterious facility situated on the shores of Cauldron Lake where a government organization’s secret research goes awry.
The Last of Us Part I for PS Plus
Naughty Dog’s 2022 remaster of the original The Last of Us is coming to the PlayStation Plus game catalog later this week.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2 Remastered
One of the worst kept secrets of the year is the new Soul Reaver remastered collection coming from Crystal Dynamics and Aspyr. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2 Remastered was officially announced at State of Play, showing the visual upgrade that Raziel will get this December.
More Stellar Blade is coming, including a new photo mode. Developer Shift Up confirmed DLC for the game and a PC port of its sexed-up action game, with a Nier: Automata collaboration coming later this year.
Lunar Remastered Collection
Classic role-playing games Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete are coming to PlayStation with enhanced graphics, audio, and quality-of-life improvements in spring 2025.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge
Dotemu and Tribute Games’ throwback beat-’em-up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is getting two more characters — Mona Lisa and Mondo Gecko — as part of the Radical Reptiles DLC. A free update will also add new music from composers Tomoya Tomita, Keiji Yamagishi, Anamanaguchi, and more.
The virtual reality spinoff of the Metro series is coming to PlayStation VR2 on Nov. 7, a new trailer for Metro Awakening revealed.
Mistwalker’s very cool looking role-playing game is breaking free of its Apple Arcade confines later this year with the expanded Fantasian Neo Dimension. The RPG from Final Fantasy veterans Hironobu Sakaguchi and Nobuo Uematsu will get a PS4 and PS5 release on Dec. 5.
Retro horror game Fear the Spotlight is coming to PlayStation 5 this October, alongside its PC re-release, thanks to publisher Blumhouse Games.
ArcheAge Chronicles is brand new. The sequel to ArcheAge and ArcheAge: Unchained is set 50 years after the original online RPG. The new game is heading to PS5 in 2025.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard
BioWare’s latest Dragon Age game is almost here. At State of Play, we got a lengthy look at new gameplay, featuring the VeilGuard battling a blighted dragon known as Corius the Icetalon. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is out on PS5 and other platforms on Oct. 31.
Towers of Aghasba, the action-adventure builder fantasy game, challenges players to rebuild their civilization and the ecosystem, while maintaining a balance between the two. The game launches in early access in November.
Hitman: World of Assassination VR
IO Interactive’s Hitman is coming to PlayStation VR 2 this December.
PlayStation 5 Chroma Collection
Fancify your PS5 with Sony’s new Chroma collection, which includes Chroma Pearl, Chroma Indigo, and Chroma Teal color options for the DualSense controller and PS5 console covers. Pre-orders for the Chroma Collection will begin on Oct. 3, with Chroma Pearl and Chroma Indigo accessories launching on Nov. 7. The Chroma Teal stuff will launch later, on Jan. 23, 2025.
