Ex-Amazon Exec Thomas Drachkovitch & Former CAA Agent Jason Hafford Team Up At Dream Bay Entertainment

A pair of top international executives have joined forces to build a UK-based talent agent and production business.

Thomas Drachkovitch and Jason Hafford will lead Dream Bay Entertainment, with former Amazon exec Drachkovitch the founder and Managing Director and ex-CAA rep Hafford co-founder and Head of DBE Management.

The company, which Drachkovitch founded last year after exiting his role at Amazon Studios (now Amazon MGM Studios), comprises film and television production, literary and talent management, and media advisory services divisions. Based out of London, Dream Bay’s bosses plan to offer “a unique blend of strategic guidance, development expertise, and industry insights.”

LA native Drachkovitch left his UK-based role as Original Series Development Executive at Amazon Studios in 2022 having overseen commissioning initiatives across global markets.

He had previously been based in India, where he helped spearhead the launch of Amazon Studios’ first Indian content slate out of Mumbai, including shows such as Comicstaan, One Mic Stand, Four More Shots Please! and The Family Man. He also developed Indian sports and true-crime docs such as Sons of the Soil: Jaipur Pink Panthers and Dancing on the Grave.

He then moved to London, where he worked on a UK slate including Ten Percent, Fifteen Love, Three Pines, James May: Our Man in… and Lovestruck High.

Hafford was an agent in CAA’s global television department, and — like Drachkovoitch — spent time in London, Mumbai and LA offices. Notable clients while at CAA included Dreaming Whilst Black creator and star Adjani Salmon, Anupam Tripathi (Squid Game), Anurag Kashyap (Gangs of Wasseypur), Huma Qureshi (Army of the Dead), Deepika Padukone (XXX3: Return of Xander Cage), Priyanka Chopra (Quantico), Smriti Mundhra (Indian Matchmaking), SS Rajamouli (RRR), Tima Shomali (Alrawabi School For Girls), Vikramaditya Motwane (Sacred Games) and Zoya Akhtar (The Archies).

He also advised on the launches of IMAX and Cirque du Soleil in India.

“Teaming up with Jason marks a pivotal moment for DBE, embodying our ethos of ‘global reach, local expertise,’ said Drachkovitch. “Our partnership merges extensive experience in creative development and talent representation, uniquely positioning us for dynamic growth and innovation for projects and clients alike.

“Together, our collective experience empowers local creatives on a global scale, reinforcing our commitment to facilitating cross-cultural connections and amplifying authentic voices worldwide.”

Hafford added: “Joining forces with Thomas embodies our shared vision for the future. Our mission is to support and amplify the next generation of artists, creators, and cultural leaders worldwide. With our combined expertise and passion for international storytelling, we are confident that DBE will continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the global entertainment industry.”
