Excellent escape adventures await at Fallen Timbers business

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – There’s a special place at The Shops at Fallen Timbers where you can go to test your problem-solving skills and have some fun!

If you like the challenge of unlocking mysteries, it is the perfect place to perfect your skills.

Myron St. John and his wife, Kathy, are the owners of Escape Game Experience.

“It’s a safe, sane way to play with family and friends a variety of games. They are not trivia games, they are escape games. They’re games of observation, clue-finding and puzzle-solving,” Myron St. John said.

Myron St. John is also the game designer.

“I think it’s the challenge of trying to come up with different concepts and ideas and make it interesting for people, so it’s not boring and it keeps them on their toes,” Myron St. John said.

Here’s how it works. Using a series of clues, you have a set amount of time to solve puzzles and open locks. There are four different escape rooms, all with a different theme.

“They get an hour and they don’t always all make it, but I do have people who come back just to get through it. I always say we’re here to challenge you. You win them or lose them, there are no participation trophies here,” Myron St. John said.

One of the most popular is the Harry Potter-themed room.

“There’s a whole moment when they walk in and don’t do anything but stand there and look around the room. I do have people who come in their house robes and their own wands. That’s exciting and fun,” Myron St. John said.

Myron St. John also loves watching people take a break from technology.

“They have to talk to one another. There are no cell phones allowed. They have to communicate and work together as a team. The jubilation they get from solving the puzzle, they come out laughing and smiling and that makes it all worth it. It makes it a lot of fun,” Myron St. John said.
