Exclusive: AG’s Office uncovers illegal gambling machines stolen from state evidence

LIPSCOMB, Ala. (WBRC) – Agents with the Alabama Attorney General’s Office recovered dozens of illegal gambling machines stolen from state evidence following a raid in Selma last week. The machines were found in a back room at Jay’s Charity Bingo in Lipscomb off Avenue K.

Agents quickly located the stolen games because the evidence stickers were still on each of the machines.

The gambling machines were stolen from Selma Charity Bingo, one of five locations the AGO shut down last week with a temporary restraining order. Local law enforcement in Selma found five individuals moving the machines out of the building, which was sealed by law enforcement. They were arrested and are facing multiple felony counts.

In addition to the stolen machines, agents located more than one hundred other machines that they deem to be illegal gambling devices at this location.
