Exclusive | We spent a day with new ‘RHONY’ star Rebecca Minkoff during NYFW: Fashion previews, Paris Hilton’s party and more
New York Fashion Week isn’t for the faint of heart. Between the long nights, endless shows and high-profile sightings, it’s days of chaos that could make even the most seasoned attendee exhausted.
Fortunately for us, legendary fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff — who also happens to be the latest addition to the “Real Housewives of New York City” cast — took us under her wing for a day to show us the ropes.
And we didn’t just get help from Minkoff.
Our friends at Tri-State Cadillac helped us get around the Big Apple in style, thanks to their iconic LYRIQ electric vehicle!
Come along with us — and take some notes on how you can live life in the chic lane, too.
Stop 1: Maman
Any good day starts with some caffeine. And when you’re trying to get through fashion week, you need that caffeine to appear as soon as you wake up.
This is why we kicked off our day with Rebecca at Maman in Midtown, where we chugged matcha lattes and noshed on delicious scones.
But the tea wasn’t only sipped — it was also spilled. The 43-year-old fashionista revealed that her brand is an official partner of the upcoming “Wicked” movie, and she is releasing two bags to go along with the film. More on that later…
Stop 2: Rebecca Minkoff HQ
After fueling up on lattes, Rebecca took us to her showroom, where we got a sneak peek of what’s to come from her brand in the spring. Let’s just say, leather is always a good idea (and so is the color black — real New Yorkers know)!
Because we asked nicely, we also got a chance to see the “Wicked”-inspired bags she mentioned earlier. Take a look for yourself, and know that after seeing them, you also will have been changed for good.
Stop 3: Nordstrom Rack
Contrary to what Brynn Whitfield may think, your brand being in Nordstrom Rack is a compliment! So despite the shade, we had to pay the retailer a visit to see Rebecca’s bags in action.
New Yorkers know real estate, and the real estate these bags had at the center of Nordstrom Rack on 6th Ave. was nothing to scoff at. While those two may not become besties anytime soon, Rebecca did pick out a cute bag for her, so maybe that could be a gift at the reunion?
Stop 4: Scarpetta
We worked up an appetite after all that shopping, so we headed to Scarpetta in NoMad — one of Rebecca’s faves in NYC — to dine and dish on her life as a designer and what’s to come with her new Bravolebrity status.
From revealing how the cast of “Laguna Beach” helped her brand back in the day to deciding which three of her “RHONY” co-stars she’d want to take out to lunch, we covered a lot of ground — all while eating some of the best pasta al pomodoro of our lives).
Stop 5: NYLON Nights party
We ate, we shopped, and now it was time for the main event: an exclusive NYFW party with the iconic Paris Hilton!
Rebecca got us on the VIP list and we closed out our exciting day with the heiress herself as she celebrated the release of her “Infinite Icon” album at Hall des Lumières.
Diehard “RHONY” fans may recall that this is the same venue where Erin and Abe Lichy hosted their anniversary party… you know, one that didn’t serve food.
Thank you to Rebecca and Tri-State Cadillac for one of the chicest days of our lives! And if you need us, we’ll be perusing the aisles at Nordstrom Rack…
“The Real Housewives of New York City” Season 15 premieres Oct. 1 at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
