The Los Angeles estate of the late fashion designer Max Azria is set to be put up for auction after being initially listed for $87 million.
Max Azria, who passed in 2019 at the age of 70 from lung cancer, was the designer, chairman, founder and CEO of the contemporary women’s clothing brand BCBG Max Azria.
He purchased the house with his wife, Lubov Azria, in 2005, and spent $30 million extensively gut-renovating it.
The 30,000-square-foot Holmby Hills property, which sits on almost 3 acres, was offered for $87 million when it first went up for sale in 2015. Now, the estate is priced at $55 million.
The no-reserve auction, hosted by Concierge Auctions, is set to start on May 9 and end on May 23, and is estimated to start at $38 million.

The mansion was created by renowned architect and celebrity home designer Paul Williams in the 1930s. It’s his largest residential estate and features his signature Georgian Colonial style, which is distinguished by elaborate moldings, trims, and imposing columns.
Williams has previously designed homes for the likes of Frank Sinatra, Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball and Barbara Stanwyck.
Before it became know as ‘The Azria Estate,’ the mansion was commissioned by Charles Correll, star of Amos ‘n’ Andy.
