‘F1’ Teaser Trailer Has Brad Pitt in the Driver’s Seat
Brad Pitt is in the driver’s seat — and he’s not playing it safe.
On Sunday, the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated film, F1, was released, and there’s no signs of slowing down as the actor takes the wheel and emotions run high while he competes to be No. 1.
“Ok, Red Bull, Ferrari, Mercedes, Ashton, now McLaren all have a speed on this race, our shot is battling in the turn. We need to build our car for combat,” Pitt’s character tells Kerry Condon’s.
“How am I supposed to make that safe?” she asks.
“Who said anything about safe?” he retorts.
For the next minute, the sound of Queen’s “We Will Rock You” plays over clips of high octane Formula 1 cars taking the track and clips of the A-list cast, including Damson Idris and Javier Bardem, are seen in action for the first time.
The teaser comes after Apple Studios announced on Friday that Pitt’s race car film will be called F1 and will hit theaters in the U.S. on June 27, 2025. They also released the first poster for the movie, which reunites Top Gun: Maverick‘s director Joseph Kosinski, writer Ehren Kruger and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
The news comes after the 60-year-old actor attended the British Grand Prix for the second year in a row on Thursday, taking in the races from the paddock at the Silverstone Circuit in Northampton, England.
Pitt was properly attired for the appearance in a white racing suit and black vest. He donned sunglasses as he smiled and waved to onlookers.
It appears that Pitt’s attendance at the race is related to his upcoming F1 movie as the actor was also seen walking through a door labeled “Cast Green Room.”
Pitt and Damson Idris were photographed filming scenes at last year’s British Grand Prix for the upcoming film, which is being produced in collaboration with F1 and shot in and around actual Grand Prix weekends, giving fans a firsthand look at all the action.
In the high-octane feature, Pitt stars as Sonny Hayes — according to set pics showing his character’s garage — a retired driver who returns to F1 racing in order to help train a young upcoming star, played by Idris.
A major F1 fan in real life, Pitt was previously spotted enjoying himself at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, in October 2022, where he chatted with Formula One star driver Lewis Hamilton and Apple CEO Tim Cook.
