Facebook parent company brings data center, jobs to Aiken

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – During Governor Henry McMaster’s visit on Thursday, officials announced that a Meta data center would be coming to Aiken.

On Thursday, Aug. 29, an official with Meta stated, “Aiken County is the perfect home for Meta. The data center will be optimized for our AI workloads and a part of our highly advanced infrastructure that brings our technologies and services to life and connects billions of people worldwide. We design and build our data centers with efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability in mind.”
