Falcon’s Beyond stakeholder looks to buy Oceaneering Entertainment Systems
One of Falcon’s Beyond Global’s major stakeholders, Infinite Acquisitions Partners, is in talks to acquire theme-park ride manufacturer Oceaneering Entertainment Systems (OES).
Infinite, which is headquartered in Henrico, Virginia, submitted a nonbinding letter of intent yesterday to purchase the Florida-based company’s assets from OES parent company Oceaneering International, which specializes in engineering equipment for marine and space exploration. If the sale goes through, Infinite will appoint Falcon’s as OES’s new operator, further bolstering the park builder’s ability to construct immersive and engaging rides.
OES has collaborated with Falcon’s on several projects over the past two decades, including building rides for the Falcon’s Resort property in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, that opened last year. The partners designed one of the resort’s marquee attractions, the Voyage of the Fathom Wanderer ride, in a theater that lifts guests off the floor as they “travel” through an underwater mission.
With more than 25 years in the themed entertainment industry, OES is best known for creating attractions that feature trackless-ride vehicles and motion-based tech. The company’s credits include developing ride systems for Transformers: The Ride-3D at Universal Studios Hollywood and Singapore; LED motion screens for SeaWorld’s Believe live show; and special effects equipment for the US Navy’s Battle Stations 21 training center.
