Fallout Miami will keep us busy until Fallout 5 finally arrives
I feel like Bethesda is in a tricky spot right now. Amazon’s Fallout series has proven so massively popular that fans new and old are beating down the door for more post apocalyptic action. Alas, there are no new games on the horizon.
Fallout 4‘s recently released new-gen update has not gone down too well, Fallout London has been indefinitely delayed, and Fallout 76 will never quite scratch that single-player itch. What’s a gamer to do?
Enter Fallout Miami, an unofficial sequel to Fallout 4 made by fans, for fans.
Much like Fallout London, Fallout Miami is an incredibly ambitious mod that uses Fallout 4 as the basis for an entirely new and original experience set in the Fallout universe.
A new trailer, released this week, shows off some of the stunning new environments we’ll be able to explore when Fallout Miami launches. Take a look below.
Fallout Miami sees your character from Fallout 4 journey south in search of new work, before becoming embroiled in yet another conflict between various factions looking to take all the power for themselves.
“Fallout Miami is a brand new world space with a gripping main quest, side-quests, equipment, settlements, and a host of interesting characters and companions,” the development team explains.
“Uncover the truth behind the mysterious disappearances and participate in the age-old struggle between Order and Freedom.”
This unofficial expansion/sequel started as the dream of one modder, Mika999, but is now being worked on by a dedicated and talented team of fans.
There’s no release date for Fallout Miami yet, and it’s likely Fallout London will still arrive first, but I feel confident in saying we’ll probably be exploring the sunny south long before Fallout 5 ever shows up.
If I was Bethesda, I’d definitely be moving to work with these modders to get something out sooner rather than later while interest in Fallout is as huge as it is. But that’s just me.
