Family-owned business pays for upcoming Honor Flight trip entirely
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Good news in Vanderburgh County!
Family-owned Woods and Woods Law Firm has donated $43,000 to the Honor Flight program.
This will cover the cost for 86 veterans to fly to Washington DC for the day.
This flight marks the 10th anniversary for Honor Flight Southern Indiana.
Since its foundation, a total of 1,221 veterans have gone to the nation’s capital at no cost to them.
Organizers say when they found out Woods and Woods wanted to fund the entire trip, it was a happy surprise!
“They are supporting us 100% and we are so truly grateful for everybody who supports us, not just with financial reasons, but with mail call and wish lists and coming to the airport and cheering them on,” says Diane Shaw, VP of Honor Flight Southern Indiana
The Honor Flight will take off from Evansville Regional Airport in the early morning on October 5.
