Fargo Fashion Week wraps up last day in Downtown Fargo

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Fargo Fashion Week ended Sunday, October 27 at Botanical Brothers in Downtown Fargo.

The competition was filled with a plethora of hungry competitors and a founder who decided to collaborate with small businesses.

“The reality is some of the other places I wanted to be said ‘no’ to,” said Natalie Sparrow, founder of Fargo Fashion Week.

For a brief moment, Sparrow felt a little defeated, but then she came up with the idea while driving.

“I was driving around town, and I stopped at the stop light, and I looked to my right, and I said, ‘Wait, what about botanical brothers? They are a local business,’” said Sparrow.

The owners of Botanical Brothers decided on whether or not they would collaborate and host the fashion show.

“When I stopped in here, I said, ‘I have a crazy idea. Would you ever have an interest in having a fashion show here and a photoshoot?’ And he said, ‘That sounds pretty cool; we’ve done photo shoots, but not a fashion show.’ And I just wanted a venue that was way different than a ballroom,” said Sparrow.

The last day of fashion week also gives models articles of clothing they can display to the audience.

“Sometimes you’ll have a little jacket you can show off, or some sunglasses you can show off. So you have different aspects maybe of the same outfit that you can focus on,” said Amber Vallera, one of the models participating in the show.

Vallera has ten years of experience in these types of shows. She‘s developed a mindset where you don’t have time to be nervous at all.

“It’s more exciting. It’s all about having fun, and I think when you focus on having fun, you don’t have time to be as nervous,” said Vallera.
