Multiple Positions are available at Riverview Intermediate Unit 6 for the 2024-2025 Year.

The following positions are available for the start the 2024-2025 academic year. All positions listed are intended to be permanent positions.

Nonpublic Services School Counselor
Full-time (185 day) professional collective bargaining unit position with salary and benefits as per the collective bargaining agreement. Requires valid certification/licensure in PA certification for a PK-12 School Counselor; strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with teachers, administrators, parents, students, and outside organizations; ability to provide good judgment, planning, and human relations skills; ability to work under periods of stress; and have a valid driver license and reliable transportation. General Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): promote the overall development of students in grade K – 12 who attend nonpublic schools within the Riverview Intermediate Unit 6 region; address students’ academic, career, and personal/social development needs within the educational setting; and work collaboratively with other Act 89 staff, the administration and staff of the nonpublic schools. Services provided by the counselor include, but are not limited to, group and individual counseling of students, parents, and staff; crisis management; career development; liaison with outside agencies as well as internal contacts; and maintenance of appropriate records.

Special Education Supervisor
Full-time, 10 month, permanent position (210 days) Act 93 administrative position with minimum starting salary of $80,000 per year and consideration for experience given to reach a higher starting salary. Requires valid PA certification for Special Education Supervision or Principal certification, valid driver license and reliable transportation. General Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Provide leadership, coordination, supervision, and management for all special education programs and services in concert with the Director of Special Education at Riverview Intermediate Unit 6, with an emphasis on the supervision of the K-12 special education programming; coordinate services of RIU6 with school district personnel to meet the needs of each individual learner; facilitate and implement Individualized Education Plans for students; make professional development presentations to staff and district personnel; and provide the best care, safety, welfare, and security of students.

Special Education Teachers – Pathways, Early Intervention and School Age (multiple)
Several Anticipated Full-time (185 days) professional collective bargaining unit positions with salary and benefits per the collective bargaining agreement. Starting salary with Bachelor degree and no experience is $57,780 per year with experience and advanced degrees considered for a higher starting salary. Top salary can exceed $90,000. Requires valid certification/licensure in PA for Special Education Teacher. General Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): writing IEPs, knowledge of special education regulations, good communication – both oral and written, interpersonal skills, and competence in related technology. Position also includes coordinating with RIU6, service providers, families, and school district personnel to meet the needs of each individual learner, providing the best care, safety, welfare, and security of students.

Behavior Specialist
Anticipated Full-time (185 day) professional collective bargaining unit position with salary and benefits per the collective bargaining agreement. Requires valid certification/licensure in PA for Behavior Analyst according to PA Department of Education CSPG 203. General Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): working with students in early intervention and school age classrooms, writing IEPs and behavior plans, knowledge of special education regulations, good communication – both oral and written, interpersonal skills, and competence in related technology. Position also includes coordinating with RIU6, service providers, families, and school district personnel to meet the needs of each individual learner, providing the best care, safety, welfare, and security of students.

Autism Specialist
Anticipated Full-time (185 day) professional collective bargaining unit position with salary and benefits per the collective bargaining agreement. Requires valid certification/licensure in PA for Special Education Teacher and a minimum of three years of experience as a special education teacher and/or experience in autism. Additional training in the CLM model, CPR and CPI will be required or provided if needed. Experience working with students with autism is preferred. General Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): working with students and staff in early intervention and school age classrooms, contributing to IEPs and behavior plans, knowledge of special education regulations, good communication – both oral and written, interpersonal skills, and competence in related technology. Position also includes coordinating with RIU6, service providers, families, and school district personnel to meet the needs of each individual learner, providing the best care, safety, welfare, and security of students.

Social Worker (multiple)
Multiple Anticipated Full-time (185-day) professional collective bargaining unit position with salary and benefits as per the collective bargaining agreement. Requires valid certification/licensure in PA for School Social Worker, working knowledge of community service agencies, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. General Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): planning and implementing strategies to assist student in crisis; conducting individual and group counseling sessions for special needs students; developing positive relationships with students, families, schools and agencies. We will consider candidates with minimum Master Degree level professional counseling credentials and willingness to complete requirements for Pennsylvania Department of Education certification as a School Social Worker.

Teacher of the Hearing Impaired (Part-time)
Part-time position (approximately 75 days per year) professional collective bargaining unit position with salary and benefits as per the collective bargaining agreement. Requires valid certification in PA for Teacher of the Hearing Impaired. American Sign Language experience is desired but not required.

School Psychologist (Part-time)
Part-time position (approximately 90 days per year) professional collective bargaining unit position with salary and benefits as per the collective bargaining agreement. Requires valid certification in PA for School Psychologist. Position requires PA School Psychologist certification and must meet all state and federal highly qualified requirements for the position assigned. Experience evaluating students and familiarity with PDE evaluation requirements desired.

Educational Audiologist (Part-time)
Part-time position (as needed, approximately 25 days per year) professional collective bargaining unit position with salary and benefits as per the collective bargaining agreement. Requires valid certification/licensure in PA for Audiologist.

Classroom Paraprofessional / Educational Assistant (multiple anticipated openings)
Multiple Anticipated Full-time positions (184 days). Requires valid high school diploma and Acts 34, 114, and 151 clearances, highly qualified certification preferred. These are collective bargaining unit positions with competitive wages and excellent benefits. General Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): providing the best care, safety, welfare, and security for our students; providing assistance to the instructional staff in the classroom with a focus on your assigned students/tasks; and coordinating with RIU6 and school district personnel to meet the needs of the individual learner.

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (multiple anticipated openings)
Multiple Anticipated Full-time positions (184 days). Requires COTA License and Acts 34, 114, and 151 clearances, previous experience preferred. These are collective bargaining unit positions with competitive wages and excellent benefits. General Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): working with students from the preschool program through 12th grade providing the best care, safety, welfare, and security for students; providing therapies under the direction of an Occupational Therapist to your assigned student; and coordinating with RIU6 and school district personnel to meet the needs of the individual learner.
